Yes, that is correct. Read Revelation 4: 2-3 (CSB)
2 Immediately I was in the Spirit, and there was a throne in heaven and someone was seated on it. 3 The one seated there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian stone. A rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald surrounded the throne.
What an unusual way to describe GOD, Yahweh. This stones, jasper and carnelian, in the natural are colorful but not as nearly magnificent as say a diamond that reflects light in a rainbow of color. What are we not understanding?? Ah, the answer is in the natural way we see things on earth the light is bent (laymen terms); it is not true light. Just think about being outside on a sunny day where you have to squint to see in the distance or shade your eyes because of the brightness. When you put on a pair of polarized sunglasses, suddenly everything is crisp and clear. So let's take a look at the three stones that are described in verse 3.
The One seated there on the throne had the appearance of jasper and carnelian stone.
Interesting isn't it. In the natural we see primarily reds or oranges. Under cross-polarized lighting the depth and range of colors explodes. Fascinating!
Then we have this rainbow that has the appearance of an emerald in the second half of verse 3. When I think of a rainbow, I actually do not think of the color green which is the color I associate with an emerald. So let's take a look at an emerald in the natural and under cross polarized lighting.
Do you see the range of colors??? Suddenly I have a great understanding of the splendor and amazing view that John was seeing.
